Suburb Profile : Penrith

Suburb Profile : Penrith

Times are changing and so are Sydney’s regional cities. I thought I would profile Penrith as there has been huge investment in the city and a lot of planning from the government. Penrith will be renowned as the Gateway to the West. With the government requiring 6 regional centres to support Sydney’s population up to the year 2031, Penrith has been identified as one of those centres; specifically one of the three regional river cities.

  • 25,000 new dwellings by the year 2031
  • 10,000 new residents in the city centre by 2031
  • 10,000 new jobs by the year 2031

Business centres, a new riverfront leisure centre and entertainment precinct, developing education precincts including the Nepean Hospital & the University of Western Sydney are all part of the works.

Further to the above, the new planned Western Sydney Airport being only 15 minutes away from Penrith will also have a huge impact on Penrith.

Surrounding suburbs to the Penrith CBD area including Jamistown, South Penrith, Kingswood, Regentville, Glenmore Park & Emu Plains are all set to ride the wave of the impending property boom. With price increases of over 56% over the last 4 years and poised to rise another 30-40%, we find that Penrith is a great investment choice for the long term, with all the infrastructure, education, hospital, public transportation and commercial channels already in place.
